ABOUT
As a composer, Anthony Patterson's first major work, Gloria, was premiered at the Dimenna Center in New York by the National Choral in 2022. In 2024, his first song cycle "Lyrics of Love and Laughter," featuring the poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar, was featured on an album that debuted at number ten on Billboard’s Top Classical Music Chart. He will have his Carnegie Hall debut with “The Match” with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra on June 8th, 2026.
Anthony Patterson is a pianist, composer, arranger, and music director. He started his piano studies with his father, jazz pianist, Richard Patterson. When he was seven, Tony made his debut with the Lima Symphony, performing Mozart’s Concerto no. 28 . His concert repertoire has since taken him across the United States and Europe.
His compositions for dance are distributed by Brio Records.
His arrangement of “My Regards” was performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
As a clinician, Tony has collaborated with numerous renowned artists. He has also played for several Broadway touring productions.
Currently, Tony serves as Composer-in-Residence and Minister of Music at the Bay View Music Festival. His teachers include Don Hurless, Richard Syracuse, Jerome Rose, Earl Wild, and Stephen Taylor.
